Ting Ping Shan
Sunday past was the first Hong Kong Cycling Association mountain bike race I've ridden at in some time, with the Sheung Shui course much improved over the last time I raced there (2009?!?). It's now a reasonably technical short off road loop, but jees- 15 laps for Open Category took us almost 2hrs- a long time at full XC intensity without someone to pass you up bottles. As it happened I just about limped in for a 4th place result, but not before a crash, an exploding chainset (look closely at the picture and you won't see a big ring) and my forks had stopped working. Time for some serious mechanical work on the Turner... Thanks to Gary Lai for the photo.
