Single Speeding

I know I'm due for a proper write up of my Colossi CX Max, but here's a sneek peek of the single speed set up using a freecycled Corima rim built on an eBay special Royce hub with BMX 18 tooth sprocket and hack-sawed XTR 960 cranks.. I'll be the first to admit this rather unusual set up has had one or two teething problems, but I'm almost there now, and have since been rewarded with some new PBs on my commuting climb times. And yea, there's just something quite right about steel bikes with one gear.

CX Commuting

So tonight I christened the new Max Cross machine off road on a trail that is dull as ditch water on a fully suspended mtb, but pretty lively on a CX bike with road tires! Still, with a view like this on my way home, I really can't complain either way.

Bamboo Max

I think the pictures say it all. Hello new Max tubed Cyclocross frame... Special features include internal cable routing, fixed / geared adaptability, matching straight blade forks and a stunning paint job. Here's looking forward to the build.

Moots CX

Now here's a cyclocross bike I'd have absolutely no use for but I'd still rather like.

CX

The new issue of Rouleur is out and unsurprisingly there's a Cyclocross image on the cover. Just in case any of you missed the 'Hipster Discuss Cycloscross' video thats been doing the rounds it's here. And it's pretty funny. I'm quite sure the reality is that CX is still groups of slightly mental roadies with the odd mtb'er racing around muddy fields in skinsuits, in the UK at least, but CX does seem to be enjoying a 'cool' moment right now.

Roberto is still the only CX rider I know in HK. Maybe the half dozen fixed gear hipsters will organise off road alley cats now? Could be fun!

Rain

Wow- Rapha even manage to make riding Cyclocross in the rain look 'romantic'. Glad to be in HK, not UK as the joy of winter starts.

Cotic X

I need another form of biking to get into like a hole in the head, but I do like the look of this new Cotic Cyclocross bike. Maybe I just like the idea of an Orange bike? It'll pass...
